Imagine the choreographed motion of more than a thousand people holding colorful "brushstroke" placards towards the sky to create a gigantic open-winged butterfly, surrounded by poetry and choral singing. YOU are invited to join us at Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis on Saturday, February 28th at 1pm to co-create a message of solidarity and compassion—a massive art action called Kaleidoscope of Love, celebrating neighborhood resilience and shared democratic freedoms. This inspiring human-powered mosaic will be live-streamed and documented from above by artist-managed drones. The unique gathering of participants and audience members offers an opportunity for neighbors from the region to connect, to heal and to persist with pride, strength and dignity as a community. The Kaleidoscope of Love documentation will send a powerful message to the rest of the nation—and the world—that Minnesotans value beauty, compassion and communal care, and reject the continuing federal atrocities that have rendered lasting harm to our communities. This celebration—a collaboration of community members led by Big Animal Production and Intersection Inc.—represents our resilience and the power of public art to sustain attention on what matters most in this moment.
