For the occasion, a portion of Cartier Boulevard (between Michaud and Amp&egrave;re) will be closed to motorized traffic to make way for bicycles, roller skates&nbsp;! 🚲 For the occasion, Mecanique Feministe will be present to offer participants a mixed-gender mechanics workshop. Bike mechanics has historically been a male-dominated field, but it doesn&#39;t have to stay that way!The mixed-gender workshop is a way to deconstruct gender stereotypes related to mechanics, by showing that bike practice and repair are simple and accessible. We will learn to check the main safety elements on your bike and you will be introduced to basic adjustments (brakes, tires, transmission maintenance) to keep your bike in good condition and ride more easily. No prior knowledge of bike mechanics is required. Bring your bike!This workshop is specifically reserved for women, children, non-binary individuals, and gender minorities underrepresented in bike mechanics. 📍The workshop will take place in the parking lot of the Emile-Nelligan library in Laval.
