Rue Yi Live + Instincts Rituel + Richard

Come join us for a night of contemporary jazz and movement with composer and performance artist Rue Yi, who brings a set to Montreal from Toronto hot off the heels of her New York performances, bringing a vertically monumental installation and original songwriting to the legendary venue Parquette's last night of live shows before closure. Rue builds all-encompassing music and set designs under ULTRAPRESENCE, guided by the philosophy that the full spectrum of human attention is only achievable through the presence of witnessing and experiencing in-person, especially when screen-based physical infrastructure limits our imaginations by capturing for only a single slice of what human focus is truly capable of. The performance is an experimental work of connectedness and touch; we are exuding our energy for the love and good times had at Parquette into the building and its history through ritual togetherness joined by music and performance. Joined by Rue are Toronto- and Montreal-based musical proponents of this philosophy - Mateos Labbé-Phelan, Maxwell Stover, Adrian Russouw, and Giran Findlay-Liu are jazz musicians who allow their sensitivity to one another and the room to create a space which is responding to not just the performance but each other. Supporting the act are Richard and Ritual Instincts, Montreal-based musicians who bring you downtempo sets. Oct 22nd Doors at 7:30pmShow at 8:00pm
