Workshop - Holiday Hexi Ornaments

Class Description: Join us for a festive ornament-making workshop using English Paper Piecing (EPP). We’ll be working with hexagons, so get ready to look at the season through a six-sided lens! Whether you’re already familiar with EPP or have dabbled in the technique, this workshop is a chance to enjoy the rhythm of hand piecing while putting those Christmas fabric scraps to good use. We’ll share tips, techniques, and plenty of time to stitch at a relaxed pace. Before the holiday rush really takes off, give yourself permission to slow down, settle in, and enjoy some quiet creative time. You’ll use your EPP skills to make beautiful Christmas ornaments—small, satisfying projects that bring a handmade touch to your tree or make thoughtful gifts. Come for the hexagons, stay for the stitching, conversation, and the chance to see Christmas from a whole new angle!Rachel will have a few ornament designs to choose from. How many you ask? We will see how many she comes up with before the class! (At least 3). About the Instructor: Rachel Mathews is a lifelong sewer, starting as a child making doll clothes from scraps under her mother’s sewing table. As a 13 year old she bought her first sewing machine with baby sitting money. The quilting began 45 years ago with templates, scissors and a needle and thread. Oh how things have changed. Over time Rachel has mastered new quilting techniques as they became the thing to do earning many ribbons and even a CQA award. Throughout the years she has always retained a love of handwork, finding it relaxing. That is where the English Paper Piecing bug began. She has made several EPP projects; most original design. Many have won ribbons in our our own guild shows. Rachel can’t wait to share her love of EPP with you! The Fine Print …

Waitlist: After the maximum number of participants per workshop are enrolled, we establish a waiting list.
