What would you do if your dog or cat got sick? And the trip into "town" to get the necessary medical help took you four hours to get there.  Now imagine if you didn't have a reliable car.  Or maybe you didn't have a steady income that allowed you to take that trip...one that would probably include an over night stay, a tank full of gas, and a follow up appointment in a week. While this might not be a reality for YOU - it certainly is for the folks in our target communities.   Sometimes, the only hope for them and their beloved animals - is US.  On Friday, we will be heading hours North to a community that doesn't have the blessing of a vet, or a specialty pet store - or even a Walmart of Canadian Tire.   They aren't able to jump in the car when they notice their dog is sick, or to book a quick appointment when it's time for their dog to get spayed.   And even though they try their best - sometimes, their best isn't "good enough" and they need our help.  Not because they don't try - but because their daily life is so much different than ours.  Creature comforts aren't at their fingertips and the things WE take for granted, are few and far between for them.  We jump at the chance to help our friends in the North - not only to help their pet population and to bring puppies and dogs out of the cold, but to acknowledge and support the love they share for their furry friends.   But it comes as a cost.   We are looking to raise $3250 for our Mission Trip.  This total covers gas, pet food for the community, the ability to vaccinate, deworm and microchip 25 animals (all of which, will be coming back with us to Red Deer, to find their forever families), and to spay at least 2 Mama dogs.  While it isn't a lot to stop reproduction - it does slow it down just a bit.   So what do you say?  Will you help us?
