Join our Community Collaboration &amp; Action Town Hall Series to examine real issues facing Decatur County. The April 25 event, held at The Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, will share information and encourage discussions on Food Insecurity and Homelessness in Decatur County. Your voice and experience matter. By equipping residents with knowledge, resources, and advocacy tools, the Decatur County NAACP will foster a more informed, unified, and civically engaged community. This series strengthens the pipeline of local leadership and ensures that all individuals can exercise their rights, influence policy, and shape a more equitable future for everyone. Community Collaboration & Action Town Hall Series

Ms. Nettie Washington Douglass is the great-great- granddaughter of Frederick Douglass and the great-granddaugter of Booker T. Washington. As the &quot;heir of two great Americans,&quot; she is the first person to unite the two bloodlines through the union of her mother, Nettie Hancock Washington (granddaughter of Booker T. Washington), and her father, Dr. Frederick Douglass III (great-grandson of Frederick Douglass). Her lineage is incredible and the story of how she has represented these legacies since she was a child is equally fascinating. &nbsp; This event, the first of 12 in the series, is like no other! You need to be there! 🎉 Every registration to this event allows children and teens, 18 and younger, to attend for free, and brings us closer to our mission: Community Collaboration, creating conversation through innovative, public education.
