&quot;MY DEAR MR HODSON&quot;&nbsp;A talk by Paul Marsh ,Chair of Abbey Gardens Friends in which &nbsp;he brings together letters, stories, and memories from the &nbsp;Bury Botanic Garden &nbsp;between 1820 and 1861 and reveals, for the first time , the contents of several recently discovered &nbsp;letters written by Mr &nbsp;Hodson himself and several &nbsp;written on his behalf by his first curator , Mr John Denson jnr. The letters give glimpses of &nbsp;the plants Hodson was growing and &nbsp;trading with other gardeners and how he dealt with the vagaries of postage , transport and debt. It should be a fascinating evening, revealing &nbsp;new insights into the history of the Bury Botanic Garden which we now enjoy as the Abbey Gardens .
