Give for Belonging
Everyone deserves to feel that they belong. For many members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community across Canada, that sense of belonging is still hard to find. Queer and trans youth face rising hostility in schools and online. Transgender people are seeing their rights debated in legislatures and on the news. Rainbow seniors are growing older in a care system that was never designed with them in mind, and many are facing those years alone.Advocacy Canada was founded in 2021 to stand with these community members. Over five years, we have grown from a small group of volunteers in Kelowna into a national registered charity that runs community programs, supports people navigating discrimination, and speaks up for the rainbow community where public policy is made.Give for Belonging is our ongoing campaign to keep that work going. Your gift supports programs and policy advocacy that make a real difference for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, transgender people, and seniors. It helps us bring community voices to governments and decision makers, respond when rights are under threat, and build spaces where people can connect and find support.Your gift also sustains programs like the Okanagan Rainbow Seniors Project, which honours 2SLGBTQIA+ elders while bridging generational gaps, and your donations will help us expand this vital community program across Canada.Become a monthly supporterMonthly giving is the most powerful way to help. When you give a set amount each month, you give us something we can plan around. Steady support means we can commit to longer projects, respond quickly when our community needs us, and spend less time fundraising and more time doing the work.A monthly gift of any size adds up. Ten dollars a month becomes $120 a year. Twenty-five dollars a month becomes $300. When hundreds of people give together, it builds a foundation strong enough to carry this work for years to come. You can change or cancel your monthly gift at any time.Advocacy Canada is a federally registered charity, and you will receive a charitable tax receipt for your donation. Thank you for helping build a Canada where every member of the community belongs.
