Affair of the Heart is a student-led charity gala at the University of Alberta, uniting the community to support the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society. Funds raised empower individuals with Down syndrome through education, advocacy, and inclusive programs.

Affair of the Heart (AOTH) is a student-led charity gala hosted annually by medical students in the University of Alberta&#39;s Faculty of Medicine &amp; Dentistry. Each year, the event brings together students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and community members for an elegant evening celebrating excellence in medicine while raising funds for a deserving local children&#39;s charity. This year, we are proud to support the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society (EDSS). EDSS is dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome and their families through education, advocacy, inclusion, and community support. Funds raised through Affair of the Heart will directly support programs that provide family resources, youth initiatives, social and recreational opportunities, educational programming, advocacy, public awareness, and access to specialized therapies.By attending, sponsoring, or donating, you are helping create a more inclusive community where individuals with Down syndrome have the opportunity to thrive. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
