Welcome to the beautiful property at Amberations! &nbsp;We are excited you have elected to enroll your explorer in a nature immersion program designed to connect humans small and tall to nature, art and community! &nbsp;Our program will run July 13th - 17th, July 20th-25th and August 3rd - 7th from 9:15 - noon for children ages 5 -10(ish). &nbsp;The following is important information regarding our beautiful, organic program. &nbsp;Please take a moment to read through the details and feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Camp days:Daily experiences will stem mainly from self guided choices sprinkled with facilitation of survival skills, nature art, reading books, yoga, hiking, exploration of our pond and stream, barn animals, local plants, bugs, animals and community fun. &nbsp;The mission is centered on the learner! &nbsp; Our program allows your child the opportunity to commune with nature in a way that meets them where they are. &nbsp;Luckily, Amberations is positioned next to the Community Center making our nature experience a little more modern, when needed! &nbsp;Use of the Community Center for restroom needs, inclement weather and activities requiring electricity are available daily.&nbsp; What to wear:Plan on watching the weather every morning before sending your child to camp so you may make informed decisions about daily attire. &nbsp;Count on your child coming home dirty! &nbsp;Please keep the nice clothing in the dresser at home and send your child to camp with weather appropriate attire. &nbsp;Do not underestimate rain boots! &nbsp;Sneakers or shoes built for creek walking are also suggested. &nbsp;Sweatshirts are recommended as mornings can be chilly in August. In the backpack:Proper gear is an absolute essential aspect of this outdoor program! Natural Resources Conservation&nbsp;I have always enjoyed working with children in an outdoor setting! My first job was as a lifeguard where I taught swim lessons and loved it so much I did it for the next 8 years. During my time at Finger Lakes Community College, I had an internship at Cumming Nature Center as a Forest School Teacher, where I was offered a job and loved exploring the woods, learning knife and fire skills, and exploring nature art and cooking with the children. Then I had my son, Rune, and continued enjoying my love of nature with him. We attended O.L.L. when Rune was barely walking and became volunteers at Amberations, which we continue to this day! I now homeschool and work part time at the Elbridge Free Library, where I bring nature into the library for crafts, story hour and homeschool hangouts. We are so excited to have a fun (and safe!) time sharing in the magic of Amberations. &nbsp; Paperwork:You must complete Wilderness Explorer Forms (emergency contact, waiver, etc.) at least 3 full days prior to the start of camp or your child will not be able to attend camp. Forms can be completed <a fr-original-style="" href="https://app.waiverelectronic.com/s/o5qcfkcT" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">here.</a> Food Allergies:Sometimes we have campers with food allergies. &nbsp;In this case, we will make families aware of the specific allergy prior to camp and invite families to pack lunches without the troublesome food product. &nbsp;We very much care about the wellbeing of our campers and ask families to plan lunches accordingly to ensure a safe and happy camp experience! &nbsp;Thank you for your consideration in advance! Child Safety:Amberations does not provide one on one aids to our day campers. &nbsp;If your child has a unique ability requiring extra assistance, it is your responsibility to procure one. &nbsp; Bullying:It is of utmost importance our campers have an enjoyable safe experience while at Amberations. &nbsp;Adverse behavior will be addressed and taken seriously. Illness:In the event your child has symptoms of fatigue, fever, or respiratory changes, please plan on an alternative plan than camp until your child&#39;s health improves. &nbsp;Campers becoming ill during nature camp hours will be assisted and cared for and expected to be picked up from camp if the facilitators deem as such. &nbsp;A facilitator will reach out to the child&rsquo;s guardian provided on the emergency forms. We have two main fundraisers per year. The Fall Festival is our bigger of the two and just gets bigger and better every year. We have local artisan and other vendors, many raffle prizes, a duck race, live music, lots of delicious food, activities for kids and adults. Since vendors often want a covered space, we miss out on vendors every year. To celebrate our 20th year, we are trying to pull off renting a large tent to accommodate them. He has grown edible mushrooms for more than a decade in Marcellus and loves to explore all the fungi that pop up in local fields and forests. He also is a soapmaker, a beekeeper, a maple syrup maker and a gardener.  Oh, and he tends to a flock of chickens and some sheep, too. Go up the long driveway (across from a yellow house) and veer left at the top. There is a parking area and the group will assemble in that area. Reserve your vendor spot 🎪 and help make our Fall Festival better than ever. If you have attended in the past, our set up will be a little different this year. The bands will be where the vendor tent was last year. Please move vehicles out of the parking lot by 12:40pm.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Event runs from 1pm-5pm</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Please bring an item or basket to donate for a raffle prize. We would prefer to have one of your items but if that isn&rsquo;t possible, please bring something else. Make sure to include one of your business cards or other info about your business. Winners want to know about you!</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">We will be having a vendor passport card again to encourage visitors to visit all of your booths.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">BYO tent spots are roughly 10&rsquo; x 10&rsquo;. You will need to provide all of your own set-up: tent, table, etc. Please bring weights for your tent to prevent tents from turning into kites if it is windy. (red) If 6 spots indicated int he picture fill, we can move on to other open spaces back at the barn or on the basketball court.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Pavilion spots (orange) are roughly 8&#39; x 8&#39;. If the pavilion spots fill, we will move onto the lower tent space (striped).&nbsp;</li></ul>Since this is a fundraiser and a large portion of our proceeds come from food, drinks and baked goods, we will not be welcoming ready-to-eat food vendors.
