Join us as we honour the life and legacy of Shirley Frost and dedicate a special space in our Athlone neighbourhood in her name. 🌳 This gathering is a chance to share stories, connect with neighbours, and recognize Shirley&rsquo;s years of quiet, steady care for our community.&nbsp; We will begin with a dedication and plaque reveal down at Athlone Park (Corner of 129 Street &amp; 128a Ave) at 1pm. We&rsquo;re currently looking for vendors to help us bring this event to life&mdash;so if you&rsquo;ve got cards or related items to sell, now&rsquo;s your chance to get in on the ground floor of something awesome!

Card Show - Vendor Payment Portal

Help shape the future of Athlone-Dunvegan while connecting with neighbours. At our Annual General Meeting, we&rsquo;ll share updates, elect our board, and talk about the programs and events that keep our community welcoming and active. We are also looking for a few new board members, so if you have ideas, enthusiasm, or simply want to help make great things happen, we would love to have you involved.&nbsp; This year&rsquo;s theme is &ldquo;Taste the Neighbourhood,&rdquo; with food from local restaurants and businesses served during the meeting. Doors open at 5:00pm, with the AGM beginning at 5:30pm. Children are welcome during the meeting, and at 7:00pm we&rsquo;ll transition into an adults-only celebration with drinks, karaoke, dancing, door prizes, and our long-awaited 50/50 draw. Bring a garbage bag full of recyclables to receive a free drink ticket, and this RSVP entitles you to an extra entry into the prize draws. Your registration helps us plan food, seating, and child-friendly spaces amongst other things. Everyone in the Athlone-Dunvegan neighbourhoods are welcome, whether you&rsquo;re a long-time volunteer or brand new to the neighbourhood.

Pysanka is the traditional Ukrainian art of decorating eggs using melted wax and vibrant dyes. Layer by layer, intricate patterns and symbols are revealed, each with special meaning. It&rsquo;s part art, part storytelling, and a beautiful celebration of culture and creativity. Join us for a hands on class where you&rsquo;ll learn the wax resist technique step by step and create your own beautifully detailed egg to take home. No experience needed, just a little patience and a spark of creativity. Come try something unique and leave with a tiny masterpiece. ✨ This class is open to anyone over the age of 5 but children 8-15 must be accompanied by an adult.&nbsp;

When you sign up, you&rsquo;ll vote for your favorite option, and the bread with the most votes will be the star of the class.Choices include: soft pretzels, focaccia, braided Amish bread, or pesto garlic cheese buns.Come knead, shape, and bake alongside your neighbours, learn some tasty tips, and head home smelling like a very happy bakery. It&#39;s an event like no other, it&rsquo;s fully plant-based, and we want you to be there! 🎉 We are offering this class on Monday, January 5th. Class will take place from 6pm - 8pm. There are limited spots available. All participants must be 16 years of age or older.
