The Bakersfield Black American History Parade Committee celebrates African American history, culture, and achievements through community parades and events, fostering unity and honoring past and present leaders, artists, and youth in Bakersfield.

Join us for the 2026 Bakersfield Black American History Parade 🎉Parade Theme: Celebrate In Unity, WE ARE ONE &nbsp; Celebrate Black history, culture, and achievement in Bakersfield with neighbors, families, and local organizations . This event honors our past while lifting up today&rsquo;s leaders, artists, and youth. During the Heritage Awards Festival individuals and groups will be acknowledge and recognized for their contributions &nbsp;within the community. &nbsp;There will be much excitement , traditional cultural soul food , dancing , music entertainment, fun and family fellowship. Education for all, &nbsp;on this our &nbsp; 100th year anniversary celebration of Black History Month , 1926 -2026 &nbsp; To use the&nbsp; form to sign up your float, performance, community group, or youth program 🎺 contact the organizer GLORIA PATTERSON a 661 703-7955 &nbsp;to obtain your application. The purpose of this event is to Help raise funds needed &nbsp;to support the growth and maintenance of the Charmed &amp; Chosen empowerment center&rsquo;s STEM Lab and accompanying. programs geared towards mentoring &nbsp;our youth..&nbsp;In collaboration with Mom&rsquo;s House &nbsp;Chicken &amp; waffles and more the Authentic Southern -style Waffle House, you will enjoy a delicious pancake meal &nbsp;contribute to the growth of young boy or girl.&nbsp;$20.00 per person - and all donations of any amount are welcomed as it will make a difference to assist our Thriving Thursday Mentor session.&nbsp;Charmed &amp; Chosen is a local 501c3 organization dedicated to helping all youth thrive.&nbsp;
