Join the Master Currier's Appeal: Future Gardeners 🌱🌿 My name is Robert and I am the Master of the Worshipful Company of Curriers for the year commencing October 2026 For my Master’s charitable appeal, I wish to support Future Gardeners, a horticultural training programme run by Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST), based in Southwark. Since 2016, the programme has helped people facing significant barriers to employment, many with a disability or long-term health condition, to retrain for a career in horticulture. Over a sponsored ten-week course, students work towards a City & Guilds qualification, gain practical experience through placements with organisations including the Royal Parks, Kew Gardens and Chelsea Physic Garden, and receive individual mentoring to help them into employment. In 2024–25, 86% of students completed the programme, and 61% of those graduating went on to employment or further training in the horticultural industry. For more information see https://bost.org.uk/future-gardeners. This is a small programme where our contribution could make a real difference to someone’s life. It is educational and operates very close to the City of London, thereby matching two of our main charitable pillars. I think that it is also rather fitting that the Curriers, a Company built on a skilled trade, can help others to gain the skills, qualifications and opportunity to build a career in another skilled trade. Thank you for your generous donation.
