The House of Love - Welcome! Beit Ahavah בֵּית אַהֲבָה, the Reform Synagogue of Greater Northampton, is a joyful, progressive and inclusive spiritual Jewish community affiliated with the Reform movement, a warm and welcoming place for members of all backgrounds. Together we strive to create sacred community, offering many ways to connect with Judaism and heal the world! We are excited for this Partnership model as an evolving paradigm of investing spiritually and financially as Partners in Jewish community and our congregation. The transition from the more typical word “Membership” to “Partnership” is a simple premise: Each of us is part of something greater than ourselves and each gives something to enhance and enrich our shared exploration of Jewish values, life, meaning and traditions. Scroll below for details about making a financial spiritual investment and Fair Share Dues “Gift of the Heart.” Together with our rabbi Rabbah Riqi Kosovske, our leaders and volunteers, and our partners and community members, we share passions, talents and ideas to accomplish a lot for a small congregation! We create participatory and musical Shabbat and holiday services, involvement and pathways of connection — meaningful life cycle events and support for times of joy and times of challenge; spiritual, creative learning, growth and pastoral care with our Rabbah Riqi; doing projects of Tikkun Olam (healing the world), Tzedek Tzedek (justice, justice) and Chesed (lovingkindness) together; vibrant community and soaring harmonies with music at the High Holydays, year round Shabbats and holidays; year-round and seasonal committees and projects, celebrations, expressive art, peace and projects; supported by the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) and Religious Action Center (RAC) for resources and leadership trainings; inspiration, programs and resources from ALEPH Alliance for Jewish Renewal movement, and collaborations with our local interfaith, Jewish community and arts friends; with youth, teens and RUACH learning, Tot Shabbat young families, enriching family education; and opportunities for on-going adult learning, creativity, deepening spirituality and engagement. Why become a Partner at Beit Ahavah?Beit Ahavah is fueled by the love, talent and creative investment of each of our community members. We care about Shabbat and holiday services that are spiritual, musical and meaningful; and deepening our understanding of the Jewish year cycle in ways that enrich our lives and community. We engage deeply with our rabbi, Rabbah Riqi Kosovske, on so many projects of the heart, services, learning and being in the life of the synagogue, our lives and the world. We offer learning in community, with dynamic youth education programs and services tailored to students and families, creative and supportive B’nei Mitzvah experiences, teen connections, and adult programming and learning. Learning programs and spirituality integrate the arts, healing and justice into learning and community building. We believe we are made stronger through our diversity, welcoming all ages, identities (racial, ethnic, LGBTQ+, gender, ability), and backgrounds (spiritual, economic, etc.). We create and inspire opportunities for Tzedek – justice and Tikkun Olam – transforming and healing the world, guided by the wisdom and mandates of our Jewish tradition. We love being part of the opportunity to be part of a vibrant, relevant and meaningful progressive Jewish community. Beit Ahavah Pledge Form ~ "Mashkon Beit Ahavah"
Your multi‑year pledge for 2026–2027–2028 sustains and secures Beit Ahavah’s welcoming, inclusive progressive Jewish community. Your pledge for each year enables the Board of Directors to plan, envision and develop thoughtfully and with integrity. It allows us to sustain our dynamic rabbinic presence and spiritual leadership, to staff teachers, create community events and pathways, and build joyful sacred spaces for families and multigenerational community. Thank you for giving in the way that feels right for you and your household.A "pledge" in Hebrew is "Mashkon" מַשׁכּוֹן, meaning pledge, security, guarantee and sweetness. Mashkon is related to the same words for Divine Presence within community, the Temple, and neighbor. We think these words resonate with who we are, and your commitment and investment guarantees Beit Ahavah to continue securely as a sacred Jewish community built on lovingkindness and healing the world.Thank you for your generous support.Beit Ahavah began in 1998 in a living room by a dedicated group who joined the vision of a rabbi’s daughter with her husband who sought to build an inclusive Reform Jewish community in the greater Northampton area. This small group developed a vision of a warm and welcoming progressive, Reform Jewish community where worship and study would be spiritually and musically enlivening, meaningful and embodying foundational Jewish teachings about Ahavah (Love) and Tikkun Olam (Repair of the World), to create a close community at home that would also impact the broader Jewish community to push boundaries and evolve towards inclusion, welcoming, expressive arts and progressive values.
