Step into the dark side of the North with two outstanding crime writers.Join acclaimed authors Clare Grant and T.G. Hofman in conversation with Berwick Writers' Forum's Clare English as they explore the research, inspiration and craft behind their gripping crime novels - from the shadowy streets of Victorian York to the criminal underworld of present-day Newcastle.Clare Grant is the author of Winter of Shadows, the first in an acclaimed historical thriller series set in 1860s York. A former journalist, she combines meticulous historical research with page-turning suspense to bring the city's hidden past vividly to life.T.G. Hofman is a writer, theatre director at The Straw Yard in Berwick, and Presiding Justice in the criminal courts of England and Wales. His debut thriller, Rooke, introduces Detective Chief Inspector Alanna Rooke in the first of a gripping new series set across Newcastle, Gateshead and the Northumberland coast.Whether you're fascinated by historical mysteries, contemporary thrillers or simply love discovering how great crime fiction is created, this promises to be an engaging evening with two of the North East's most exciting voices.Duns Volunteer Hall, 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
