The Boone County Hospital Foundation is partnering with the Boone girls swim team for Project Be the Light: Swim Against Cancer on Thursday, September 17, during the Boone Girls Swim & Dive meet. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m.All proceeds support Project Be the Light, a Boone County Hospital Foundation program that provides financial assistance to Boone County families facing hardship due to a cancer diagnosis. Grants help with medical bills, housing, utilities, transportation, and other living expenses — helping families focus on healing and time together.Every lap, every dive, and every dollar raised will help shine a light for families right here in Boone County.Project Be the Light T-ShirtShow your support for Project Be the Light by purchasing a Swim Against Cancer T-shirt.Proceeds from shirt sales support Boone County families facing financial hardship due to a cancer diagnosis. Every shirt helps raise awareness and provides local support through Project Be the Light. Shirts can be worn to the Swim Against Cancer meet on Thursday, September 17, or anytime you want to help shine a light for Boone County families.T-shirt orders are due by Tuesday, September 8.Event SponsorSponsor an event during Project Be the Light: Swim Against Cancer and help support Boone County families facing cancer. Event sponsors will be recognized prior to the event during the meet. Sponsorships may be made by families, individuals, or businesses and may also be given in honor of or in memory of someone affected by cancer.Light the BoardMake a pledge for every event won by Boone Girls Swim & Dive during the Swim Against Cancer meet. You choose your pledge amount per event win, and the Foundation will follow up after the meet with the final donation amount. Supporters may also choose to set a maximum donation amount if preferred.Pass the BucketDuring the meet, we will pass the bucket for donations to Project Be the Light.This is a simple way for fans, families, and community members to support Boone County families facing hardship due to a cancer diagnosis.
