LXCL:Canaan Wellspring is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Palestinian culture through Dabke, storytelling, workshops, and community education.

Jafra is the young Palestinian girl who will guide you on a journey into the world of Palestinian dabke dance and folklore. Through her storytelling, you will discover the history of dabke, the stories woven into the lyrics of our folk songs&mdash;many of them composed and passed down by Palestinian women through oral tradition. Jafra will bring these tales to life with live dabke performances, inviting you to experience the joy, beauty, and resilience of a people who have carried this dance for millennia. It&rsquo;s wedding season in Palestine, and one of the most beautiful traditions surrounding Palestinian weddings is the creation of the Qronfol Qladeh (Clove Necklace).Traditionally handcrafted from dried cloves, beads, coral, amber, and precious stones, these necklaces were worn by Palestinian brides both as an elegant adornment and to give their dresses a beautiful natural fragrance. Cloves were also believed to protect against envy and the evil eye, making them a cherished element of bridal jewelry and cultural heritage.Today, the Qronfol Qladeh remains a treasured Palestinian tradition, worn by brides and their relatives as a symbol of identity, beauty, and connection to our heritage.Join us for this special workshop and learn how to create your own traditional clove necklace while adding your own personal artistic touch. Participants will leave with a handmade necklace and a deeper understanding of the cultural history behind this unique Palestinian tradition.No prior experience is needed. Celebrate Eid with the flavors, scents, and warmth of Palestinian tradition at our Mama &amp; Me Maamoul Event!Experience the joy of gathering together to make traditional Palestinian maamoul, a delicious semolina cookies filled with sweet ajwa date paste and dusted with powdered sugar, just like the cherished nights before Eid in Palestine.
