**CYMRAEG ISOD / WELSH BELOW** Tom Jenkins – Live at Canolfan Bethlehem, Newport, North Pembrokeshire. An intimate live performance from the South Wales singer-songwriter, delivering raw, heartfelt songs rooted in working-class stories, tradition and lived experience. Tom Jenkins hails from the hills of the South Wales valleys. A shepherd and hill farmer by trade, he weaves the post-industrial landscape and the stories of working-class communities into a body of songs rooted in tradition and lived experience. Inspired by a family history of coal miners and farmers, Jenkins’ writing captures the spirit of these hills and far beyond, most powerfully heard on his latest album As the Cold Dust Settles, released last year. His 2019 self-released debut Misery In Comfort was written in the solitude of the New Zealand back country while working as a shepherd and sheep shearer. Intended as nothing more than a one-off passion project, the record quickly caught the attention of the wider music industry and his own musical heroes. That momentum led to a personal invitation to tour with Grammy and Oscar-winning singer-songwriter and Yellowstone star Ryan Bingham, followed swiftly by a record deal and major booking agency support.A relentless live schedule followed, with Jenkins touring and opening for artists such as Bastille, Megan Moroney, Frank Turner, Cardinal Black and Skinny Lister. Along the way, his raw and authentic blend of indie, country and folk proved it could stand shoulder-to-shoulder across genres, earning widespread critical acclaim and recognition from the music press, including Artist and Album of the Week from Huw Stephens (BBC Radio Wales / BBC 6 Music).Balancing the demands of running a large working hill farm while continually releasing music has taken its toll over the past five years, but Tom Jenkins’ story is one like no other. A hard-grafting, gritty songwriter, he has carved out a reputation as a powerful voice for the working class, singing with honesty, resilience and soul. WITH SUPPORT FROM RHI JORJ --------------------------- Tom Jenkins – Yn Fyw yng Nghanolfan Bethlehem, Trefdraeth, Gogledd Sir Benfro.Perfformiad byw agos atoch gan y canwr-gyfansoddwr o Dde Cymru, yn cyflwyno caneuon crai, calonog sydd wedi'u gwreiddio mewn straeon dosbarth gweithiol, traddodiad a phrofiad byw. Mae Tom Jenkins yn hanu o fryniau cymoedd De Cymru. Bugail a ffermwr mynydd wrth ei alwedigaeth, mae'n plethu'r dirwedd ôl-ddiwydiannol a straeon cymunedau dosbarth gweithiol i mewn i gorff o ganeuon sydd wedi'u gwreiddio mewn traddodiad a phrofiad byw. Wedi'i ysbrydoli gan hanes teuluol o lowyr a ffermwyr, mae ysgrifennu Jenkins yn dal ysbryd y bryniau hyn a thu hwnt, a glywir yn fwyaf pwerus ar ei albwm diweddaraf As the Cold Dust Settles, a ryddhawyd y llynedd. Ysgrifennwyd ei albwm cyntaf hunan-ryddhawyd yn 2019, Misery In Comfort, yn unigedd cefn gwlad Seland Newydd wrth weithio fel bugail a chneifiwr defaid. Wedi'i fwriadu fel dim mwy na phrosiect angerdd untro, denodd y record sylw'r diwydiant cerddoriaeth ehangach a'i arwyr cerddorol ei hun yn gyflym. Arweiniodd y momentwm hwnnw at wahoddiad personol i deithio gyda’r canwr-gyfansoddwr enillydd Grammy ac Oscar, a seren Yellowstone, Ryan Bingham, ac yna’n gyflym cytundeb recordio a chefnogaeth asiantaeth archebu fawr. Dilynodd amserlen fyw ddi-baid, gyda Jenkins yn teithio ac yn agor i artistiaid fel Bastille, Megan Moroney, Frank Turner, Cardinal Black a Skinny Lister. Ar hyd y ffordd, profodd ei gymysgedd amrwd a dilys o indie, gwlad a gwerin y gallai sefyll ochr yn ochr ar draws genres, gan ennill clod beirniadol eang a chydnabyddiaeth gan y wasg gerddoriaeth, gan gynnwys Artist ac Albwm yr Wythnos gan Huw Stephens (BBC Radio Wales / BBC 6 Music). Mae cydbwyso gofynion rhedeg fferm fynydd fawr wrth ryddhau cerddoriaeth yn barhaus wedi cymryd ei doll dros y pum mlynedd diwethaf, ond mae stori Tom Jenkins yn unigryw. Yn gyfansoddwr caneuon caled a chadarn, mae wedi cerfio enw da fel llais pwerus i’r dosbarth gweithiol, gan ganu gyda gonestrwydd, gwydnwch ac enaid. GYDA RHI JORJ YN CEFNOGI. ________________________________________________ AMDANO NI // ABOUT US : CANOLFAN BETHLEHEM Mae Canolfan Bethlehem yn gyn-gapel Bedyddwyr rhestredig Gradd II, wedi'i ddiogelu gan y gymuned ac wedi'i redeg gan wirfoddolwyr.
