Cataumet Schoolhouse Preservation Group

Cataumet Schoolhouse Preservation Group is dedicated to preserving the historic Cataumet Schoolhouse as a cultural and educational resource, promoting community engagement through performances and events that celebrate local history and heritage.

Sheryl Faye returns to Bourne to present “Liberty and Legacy,” a new production that brings the words, wit, and wisdom of Abigail Adams vividly to life for modern audiences. Ms Faye’s live performance re-introduces Abigail Adams, not simply as a founder’s wife, but as a fearless political thinker, advocate for women’s rights, and moral compass during the American Revolution and the birth of the nation. Through Adams' own letters and writings — paired with contemporary staging and technology — the show invites audiences to experience her enduring relevance and conversations about liberty, equality, leadership, and civic responsibility. Ms Faye's performance is co-sponsored by Cataumet Schoolhouse Preservation Group, Bourne Society for Historic Preservation and Bourne Newcomers and Neighbors, and is funded in part by a grant from the Bourne Cultural Council, a local agency supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
