Join CIRCA Pintig&rsquo;s Solo Show Workshop with CIRCA Pintig playwright Lani T. Montreal! Learn how to write your own solo show and play with playwright and educator Lani T. Montreal whose solo show &quot;Anak ni Tapia: Leaving Mother&quot; has performed in Chicago, Toronto, Milan, and Los Angeles. In this 90 minute workshop, Montreal will lead in creating sparks, memories, and ideas for developing your own solo show, and working through how to structure and form.&nbsp; Thanks to Restoried Bookshop for hosting this workshop in helping Filipino stories blossom!

Step into our story with a Filipiniana portrait shoot that celebrates our history and culture 📸🇵🇭 WEATHER MAKEUP DATE: WEDNESDAY JUNE 24TH AT THE RIZAL CENTER Dress in Filipiniana or barong from your family&#39;s collection or borrow one of CIRCA Pintig&#39;s costumes for the portrait. Our ensemble will help style and pose you while our photographer <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.raysrivera.com/photo" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Ray Rivera</a> will takes your Filipino style portrait.&nbsp; Tickets are sliding scale of $50 for the edited portrait photo up to $75 to raise funds for CIRCA Pintig&#39;s ongoing season of storytelling and community theatre.&nbsp; In your 20 minute time slot, you will learn the history of the FIlipiniana and Barong Tagalog, be styled and learn how to pose for the portrait, and receive an edited portrait photo.&nbsp;

For Pride Month and Immigration Heritage Month, the Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE) will be hosting this year&#39;s Baklaan movie night in partnership with CIRCA Pintig. Join us for 2026&nbsp;Baklaan Movie Night&nbsp;on Friday, June 12th. Please complete a registration form to receive the full event details. We are excited to screen the 2009 classic Filipino film In My Life, starring Vilma Santos, Jon Lloyd Cruz, and Luis Manzano, with our community! Before the screening, the CIRCA Pintig Ensemble will discuss the cultural context of the film and host a chill &amp; chat session after the screening. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and/or pillows! There will be sofa and floor seating available.&nbsp; ABOUT THE FILMIn My Life is a heartwarming story about family, friendship, love, and acceptance that puts the spotlight to Shirley (Vilma), a middle-aged librarian and single mother who accepted the invitation of her son Mark (Luis) to visit him in New York. With the help of Mark&#39;s lover, Noel (John Lloyd), Shirley tries to start a new life to get away from her problems while also trying to rekindle her estranged relationship with her son.&nbsp;

CIRCA Pintig, Chicago&rsquo;s Filipino American theatre company in its 34th year, presents EVERY BRILLIANT THING, the groundbreaking one-performer play written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahue. For the first time, original Filipino plays will be staged and performed. This year&rsquo;s festival theme is PASABOG&ndash;a common Filipino slang term to express how showstopping, brilliant, or extra someone or something is.
