The program opens with Jessie Montgomery's <em>Overture</em> and concludes with Barbara Harbach's Tenth Symphony, <em>Symphony for Ferguson</em>. Premiered in 2015, the symphony was written in response to the 2014 unrest in Ferguson, Missouri. The CRO concludes its second season by performing this piece as we approach the tenth anniversary of the violent unrest that occurred that summer.</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.5px;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background:0px 0px;text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;margin:0px 0px 10px;padding:0px;border:0px;outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;min-height:1px;min-width:1px;line-height:1.7;clear:both"><br /></p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.5px;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background:0px 0px;text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;margin:0px 0px 10px;padding:0px;border:0px;outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;min-height:1px;min-width:1px;line-height:1.7;clear:both">Program:</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.5px;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background:0px 0px;text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;margin:0px 0px 10px;padding:0px;border:0px;outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;min-height:1px;min-width:1px;line-height:1.7;clear:both">Jessie Montgomery: Overture</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.5px;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background:0px 0px;text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;margin:0px 0px 10px;padding:0px;border:0px;outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;min-height:1px;min-width:1px;line-height:1.7;clear:both">Edward Elgar: Sea Pictures</p><p style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(102, 102, 102);font-family:Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.5px;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background:0px 0px;text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;margin:0px 0px 10px;padding:0px;border:0px;outline:0px;vertical-align:baseline;min-height:1px;min-width:1px;line-height:1.7;clear:both">Barbara Harbach: Symphony No. 10, <em>Symphony for Ferguson</em></p></div>
