CHHS Pirates Band Sponsorship Program
Would you consider supporting the CHHS Band & Ensembles in 2025-2026? Your donation will help these performance ensembles reach their goals this year! The Corinth Holders High School Performance Ensembles have a rich history of excellence in the community. Over 280 students participate in seven different ensembles. In the fall, the Marching Pirates take the field during all home football games to perform pregame and halftime performances. They also travel to several competitions throughout the state. During the winter season, our Winter Guard, Winter Percussion, and Winter Winds perform in local and regional circuits. All three groups perform annually at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH. Throughout the year the Symphonic, Concert, and Jazz Bands work on improving their musical skills for multiple school performances. In the 2023-2024 season, the Marching Pirates traveled to London to march in London’s New Year's Day Parade! The students performed for over half a million people in person and hundreds of millions worldwide via television. We were honored to be selected for this opportunity to represent Johnston County to an international audience and we hope to have more opportunities such as this in the future. In fact, the Marching Pirates anticipate traveling to Rome, Italy in a couple of years to participate in their New Year's Day Parade!Providing a high level of instruction and performance opportunities for our students is expensive. Our total annual budget is well over $200,000 with only a small portion coming from the Johnston County School System. The rest of our funding is provided through fundraisers, donations, and the financial contributions of our band families. We are seeking sponsorships from local businesses and members of the community to help ease the financial burden and continue our tradition of excellence. Here are some ways your sponsorship could help our band program & band students thrive…Instruments – our bands use large musical instruments that are cost-prohibitive for individual students to purchase (i.e. tubas, sousaphones, percussion equipment). The band owns these instruments and reuses them for as long as possible. However, many of our large instruments are well over 10 years old and are in need of repair or replacement.. The cost of the large instruments can range from $2000-$10,000.Music, Staff, & Design – In order to provide a top quality music program, we must purchase new music, show design, and music performance rights each year. We also support additional staff who offer specialized professional instruction in the areas of marching, color guard, & percussion.Competitions – Our bands compete in local, regional, and national competitions throughout the school year. Costs include transportation for students and equipment, lodging and meals for students and staff. Uniforms and Equipment – Our Marching Band and Color Guard uniforms can cost as much as $10,000 per year. In addition, there are ongoing equipment needs such as flags, poles, sound equipment, power cords, and props for our performances.Scholarships - provide funds to help students who cannot afford the dues to participate in our extracurricular program. We do not want to turn any family away due to financial burden.
