Corpus Christi Cathedral

LXCL:Corpus Christi Cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Built in 1940, it has served for generations as a spiritual and cultural landmark in our "sparkling city by the sea."

Since its construction in 1940, Corpus Christi Cathedral has stood as a cultural and spiritual landmark in our &ldquo;Sparkling City by the Sea.&rdquo;  For more than 85 years, Corpus Christi Cathedral has remained a center of beauty, service, and growth in the heart of downtown Corpus Christi and throughout the Coastal Bend to many parishioners, laity and clergy, and many others in the community. Today these traditions continue. OUR MISSION AND VISIONOver the decades the Cathedral has become a family. As a family our mission is to reach out to the greater community.We are therefore excited to announce what we hope will be a new tradition: our inaugural gala. The 2026 Corpus Christi Cathedral Gala: &ldquo;A Family Reunion&rdquo; is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Omni Hotel Corpus Christi. This will be an evening of family, fellowship, and celebration, honoring the deep spiritual bonds that connect our community. SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERWe are thrilled to have The Most Reverend Daniel E. Flores, S.T.D., Bishop of Brownsville, join us as our special guest speaker for the evening. Bishop Flores is a Corpus Christi native, and was ordained as a priest in the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Prior to being ordained as a bishop, he served the Diocese of Corpus Christi in many roles, including parochial vicar and rector of Corpus Christi Cathedral.
