MYLP 2026 Registration

This workshop will provide Muslim community members with the tools to safely, effectively and efficiently advocate for social justice issues impacting their local community, whether stemming from local or global issues. During the program, attendees will learn the Islamic foundations of social justice, the history of Muslim social justice movements, and the various avenues for continuing such movements, including through law, policy, civic engagement, public speaking, and social media. They will also gain the opportunity to interact with Imams, elected officials, mental health professionals, activists, and other advocacy experts. Screening of&nbsp;the groundbreaking&nbsp;documentary:&nbsp;AMERICAN HATE &ndash; SURVIVORS SPEAK Join us for a free film screening 🎬&nbsp;of this feature-length documentary that confronts the rise of violent hate crimes in the United States through the voices of survivors and their families. These first-person accounts allow viewers to see, hear, and feel what it means to be targeted because of who you are or what you believe. The film moves from the scene of each crime to its long-term consequences: the grief, the haunting memories, and the permanent rupture in everyday life. Yet despite the devastation, survivors and their communities have discovered a renewed sense of purpose to advocate, organize, and seek justice. Hosted by CAIR-Washington and the filmmaker Arjun Singh Sethi, this event supports our mission to enhance understanding of hate crimes in the United States. We invite folks to stay after the film for a grounded, open Q&amp;A with CAIR-WA Executive Director Imraan Siddiqi, and one of the filmmakers Arjun Singh Sethi. This event is free of charge. Please consider making a contribution to support the distribution of this film. All donations will be split between American Hate &amp; Council On American-Islamic Relations Of Washington State.
