Stacking RingsDAM Studio WorkshopSunday, August 9, 2026 1:00 PM &ndash; 5:00 PM3&ndash;6 students$120 + $25 supplies Want to make your own creation in the jewelry studio? In this hands-on studio workshop, you&#39;ll learn to solder sterling silver wire, form it into rings, and shape them using a steel die and hydraulic press &mdash; walking away with a set of beautiful, one-of-a-kind stacking rings you made yourself. You&#39;ll start by building three foundational rings to get comfortable with the tools and techniques, then explore a selection of fancy wire to create more intricate, detailed designs. The more you make, the more you discover your own style. Instructor Traci Remillard will have a variety of sterling silver wire available for purchase to keep the creativity going throughout the class.Supplies fee paid in cash or check to the instructor during class.

Stacking Rings Workshop

✨ Ready to create something beautiful? ✨ This four-class enamel series offers a chance to learn the basics of enamel jewelry, but small class sizes and instructor skill mean intermediate and advanced students will also gain a lot of knowledge. Come as you are and take your skills to the next level! Here&#39;s what we cover:🔥 Class 1 &ndash; July 12 &ndash; Beginning Enameling: Get comfortable working with enamels, copper, and the kiln.🔥 Class 2 &ndash; July 19 &ndash; Embedding Metals: Create stunning line designs with wire embedded right into your enamel pieces.🔥 Class 3 &ndash; July 26 &ndash; Cloisonn&eacute;: Learn to embed fine silver and fill the spaces with richly colored enamels.🔥 Class 4 &ndash; August 8 &ndash; Enamel Painting: Think watercolors &mdash; but on enamel. The results are gorgeous. Introduction to Silversmithing&nbsp;Instructor: Lainie DaviaLearn the fundamentals of working in silver with lifelong jeweler Lainie Davia. Over four Saturday sessions, students will develop hands-on skills in soldering, sawing, fabrication, and basic stone setting. SILVERSMITHING with Lainie Davia Four-Class Series at DAM Studio Saturdays in September (9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 9/26) | 9am&ndash;1pm $400 for all four classes / $120 per individual class | Materials fee TBD Join Lainie another silversmithing series and continue to hone your skills. Delft Clay Casting Sunday, September 13, 2026 | 1:00&ndash;6:00 PM Class fee: $200 | Material fee (paid to instructor): $30 Limited to 6 students Join instructor Dennis Fair to learn a fast, low-tech way to turn your scrap sterling silver into something brand-new.&nbsp; Check out this <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v%3DHhQ0XSxhPCc&sa=D&source=calendar&usd=2&usg=AOvVaw1-CDA7hbKlm1Lb-QSTvtTM" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">video</a> to get a sense of the process before class. Delft clay can make a detailed impression (a negative) of everyday objects, which are then filled with molten silver to recreate your object. Because the mold comes apart in two halves, this technique works best on flatter objects &mdash; items with two relatively simple faces rather than deep, three-dimensional detail. Coins, leaves, carved clay shapes, and flat charms or crosses are all good candidates; anything with undercuts or hollow, hidden detail won&#39;t release cleanly. Bring your own saw frame if you have a favorite - you&#39;ll use it to cut off the sprue and other imperfections. Otherwise, all tools and clay are provided for the day of class. The instructor will also have a small amount of scrap sterling silver available for purchase at market price. Students should plan to bring their own scrap silver or casting grain.

Delft Clay Workshop

COLD CONNECTIONS with Chris Darway One-Day Workshop at DAM Studio Sunday, September 20 | 10am&ndash;5pm | $199 (+$20 materials fee paid to Chris at class) Join master metalsmith Chris Darway for a hands-on introduction to cold connections &mdash; the art of joining metal without a torch. In this one-day class, you&#39;ll explore a full sampler of techniques including mushroom, tube, flush, and invisible rivets, as well as 8-80 machine screws, hex, slotted, and cap screws. You&#39;ll also learn how to make your own threaded wire and tap a hole using a die. Working in 1&quot; x 3&quot;, 20-gauge brass and copper sheet, you&#39;ll walk away with your own finished sampler plate as a reference piece. Chris Darway is an artist, metalsmith, teacher and designer with over 40 years experience in the field, formally trained in craft design at the Philadelphia College of Art. He has sold his work through galleries, shops, and craft shows over the years, and his work has been exhibited in Japan, Germany, and England. Longtime friends of DAM Studio, we&#39;re thrilled to welcome Chris back to teach!&nbsp; No prior cold-connection experience required &mdash; just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm for hands-on metalwork.
