Derby Scrapstore

LXCL:Derby Scrapstore is a charity on a mission to keep brilliant materials out of landfill and put them back into creative hands. Founded in 1992, we’ve spent over three decades collecting surplus and reclaimed resources and redistributing them to individuals, families, schools, community groups and anyone who needs them. We also offer opportunities to learn new skills through low-cost and free creative workshops.

Needle-felt a Christmas robin 🎄🪶 is a relaxed, hands-on workshop suitable for all levels. Step by step, you’ll learn to use needle-felting to create your own cute wool felt robin to take home, perfect for a decoration or gift. No previous experience needed; all tools and materials are provided. By joining this session, you support our mission to celebrate creativity in our community. Please note this event is not suitable for children due to the sharp needles involved in needle-felting. Thank you to the lovely folk at the Long Eaton All Media Arts Club (LEAMAC) for facilitating this session. 🫶

Your donation keeps useful materials in creative hands, not in landfill. You help us collect and sort fabric, paint, wood, card and other surplus resources so individuals, families, schools and community groups can afford to create, play and learn. Every gift supports practical reuse in Derby – from our Scrapstore shelves to our Paint Scheme and Craft Shop. Together, we turn what would be waste into tools for craft sessions, classrooms and community projects.
