Discovery Christian Church

Discovery Christian Church fosters community healing through art and connection, addressing homelessness and mental health in Davis. They support initiatives like CommUNITY Through Art, bringing professional artists to vulnerable spaces for transformative experiences.

Davis is a beautiful community buzzing with creative talent. It's also a place stricken by homelessness and mental health issues - join us at Living Room on October 17 as we transform the Melon Ball into a music/arts/home cafe space while fundraising for the mental health & arts initiative, CommUNITY Through Art! CommUNITY Through Art is a project that sends professional artists into the most vulnerable spaces (like homeless shelters, recovery centers) to bring healing and connection through art. They are active in Yolo County and work regularly with 4th & Hope. You can learn more about the project here: https://yoloarts.org/communitythroughart/ There will also be live music from local musicians, visual art displays, homemade baked goods and a cafe drink bar. We want Living Room to be a space for real connection, expression, healing, enjoyment. Join us as we think about the members of our community body that tend to be forgotten! Music performances will be delivered by:1. Hopia (india/alternative duo)2. Donovan (singer-songwriter)3. Jellyfish Blue (band)4. The Liquid Hotplates (UCD student acapella group)5. Saxolotls (brass quartet)6. The Uncs (band) *NOTE*We would like to thank Discovery Christian Church in Davis for making this event possible by providing the finances for renting out the space. All ticket sales will be collected by Discovery Christian Church and then donated to CommUNITY Through Art after the event. Also, if you're bringing a minor (under 18), no need to buy a ticket for them!
