Dorothy Quincy Hancock Chapter, NSDAR Membership Renewal
It is the time of year for NSDAR and Dorothy Quincy Hancock Chapter membership renewals. As a valued member, thank you for you continued membership and support of DAR and our chapter's activities. As with most non-profit organizations, DAR operates on membership renewals that members pay at the local chapter, state and national level and any funds through fundraising and donations. A donation line has been included if you would like to contribute additional funds to the chapter at the bottom of the form labelled "Add a donation for National Society Of The Daughters Of The American Revolution". In keeping with the organization's mission to support education, patriotism and historic preservation, on which DAR was founded 136 years ago, renewals cover the expenses at every level for the thousands of dollars DAR awards or expends annually in scholarships like the local Good Citizen program and financial aid to students, securing better education for children, funding and supporting schools for underserved children; supporting active duty military personnel; assisting and honoring veterans and veteran patients, preserving America’s history through historic preservation of buildings and monuments; work in literacy, conservation, promoting Americanism and patriotism through flag ceremonies and education, and promoting women’s issues on health, finance and education and a plethora of other valuable programs enhancing lives. Additionally, DAR bears the expense of our House Beautiful, the DAR National Headquarters, Constitution Hall, which houses the nation's premier genealogical libraries, collections of pre-industrial American arts as well as an extensive collection of early American manuscripts and imprints. Additional donations may be made to support the President General's Project ($7.50). Whether you are an active member, non-active, or live away from the area, please know that you are a valued member. Not only do your renewal fees help with the many programs stated; but if you are volunteering, wherever you may reside, at local schools, your favorite local organization, or any other type of volunteerism, if you are practicing conservation efforts such as recycling or community gardening, if you are honoring and supporting veterans or active military, cleaning cemeteries, preserving historical sites, or in some way participating in the many types of activities covered by DAR committees, you are contributing to our chapter and DAR as a whole. As a reminder, please make sure your efforts are reported to our chapter for recording on the Service to America tally. If you have any concerns, questions, or suggestions please reach out to any of the chapter officers; your opinion matters and is vital to maintaining our healthy chapter.
