Echoing Air, Inc.

Echoing Air is a chamber ensemble dedicated to exploring music featuring singers with Baroque instruments - usually 2 countertenors, 2 recorders, and basso continuo.  Their repertoire includes music spanning from Medieval times to the present. 

Echoing Air invites you to join us at Christ Church Cathedral for a concert showcasing the rich heritage of Baroque music composed for Lent from France, England, Germany, and Italy. &nbsp;In addition to the members of Echoing Air, the event features choristers from the Choir School of Christ Church Cathedral. This concert is free, but your registration helps us plan this event. Join us as voices and instruments trace a path through the season of Lent, honoring a musical heritage that still speaks clearly today.

Join Echoing Air as we explore love, longing, and wit through works from the Baroque era. Admission is free, but your registration helps us, and the venue, plan for the event. &nbsp;See you on Feb. 8 at 3 pm.

Season of Festive Cheer 2024

The plays and poetry of William Shakespeare have been a source of inspiration for composers throughout the centuries. In this concert, Echoing Air will explore the enduring nature of Shakespeare’s genius in word and song from the Elizabethan Age to the present. Featured selections include songs from the plays themselves, as well as popular music of Shakespeare's time referenced in his plays. The program includes lute songs by Thomas Morley and Robert Johnson, Baroque settings by Henry Purcell and Pelham Humfrey, Classical songs by Thomas Arne, and modern settings of Shakespearean texts by Michael Tippett and John Gardner.

Enjoy an array of secular and sacred music by composers such as John Blow, Claudia Monteverde, Johann Christoph Bach, J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Henry Purcell, Henry Lawes, William Williams, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Richard Edwards, Tobias Hume, and Thomas Arne.

"Connecting Through Song" Choral Festival

Echoing Air is thrilled to be joined by flutist Tamara Thweatt and lutenist Cameron Welke.
