Our mission

The Empowered Health Foundation teaches physical and spiritual strengthening to highlight the importance of the human soul beginning in childhood and continuing through one's healthcare journey.

Donate to Braincore at the YMCA
Your gift to Braincore helps kids build the neurological foundation for learning through movement itself. Braincore is a movement-based learning program that strengthens the brain-body connection kids need to focus, regulate, and grow, using play, sensory integration, and purposeful movement instead of a worksheet. This school year, Braincore is bringing that work directly into afterschool programming at the YMCA of Greater Long Beach and Anaheim Family YMCA to meet kids where they already are, in the communities that shape their daily lives. Every session is designed to integrate child development of both the body and brain to build attention, coordination, and emotional regulation together, not in isolation.Your donation directly funds these afterschool sessions: practitioner-led instruction/assessments, movement equipment, trainings for site staff, parent/teacher support, and materials that help kids build skills they'll carry into the classroom and beyond. Every one-time or monthly gift helps us reach more kids, at more sites, with a model of learning that starts in the body.Give once, or become a monthly Braincore supporter and help sustain this work all year long.

The Jonas Project: Recovery Begins in the Body
The Jonas Project: Recovery Begins in the BodyNamed for someone we love. Built for everyone still finding their way back. The Jonas Project brings body-based, trauma-informed education into the conversation about addiction and recovery. Through movement, nervous system regulation, body awareness, and Physioenergetic Anatomy® principles, we help young people and families explore the stress, grief, trauma, relationships, and generational patterns that may contribute to disconnection from the body and from self. The Jonas Project focuses on transition-age youth, ages 16–25, whose lives have been touched by substance use, including young people aging out of foster care, experiencing homelessness, or living with mental health challenges. We also support their families, and we train the clinicians, counselors, peer-support teams, and program staff who walk alongside them. Our work includes:Community Outreach & Awareness. Participating in sobriety festivals, recovery events, health fairs, schools, community programs, and public conversations to raise awareness about substance use, trauma, the nervous system, and recovery.Recovery Program Partnerships. Partnering with substance-use treatment and recovery organizations to bring body-based, trauma-informed education into existing programs.Body-Based Recovery Programming. Educational experiences that incorporate movement, body awareness, breathing, nervous system regulation, and other Physioenergetic principles as complementary supports within established recovery care.Professional Training. Education for clinicians, recovery professionals, counselors, peer-support teams, and program staff on how trauma, chronic stress, grief, and nervous-system patterns can influence the body during addiction and recovery.Workforce Development & Practitioner Training. Helping substance-use programs understand how to incorporate appropriately trained body-based practitioners into their continuum of care.Family & Community Education. Helping families understand addiction through a compassionate, whole-person lens, with education about the role of connection, relationships, trauma, grief, and the body in recovery. The Jonas Project provides education and complementary, body-based support. It does not replace medical care, detox, or clinical addiction treatment, and it is designed to work alongside licensed treatment and recovery providers.Give to The Jonas Project today and help expand recovery beyond stopping a substance so more people can reconnect with their bodies, their relationships, their sense of self, and the life they want to live.

Transcendence: Whole-person support for cancer, serious illness, and the end of life.
Transcendence supports people living with cancer or serious illness, those approaching the end of life, and the families and caregivers who love them.Transcendence walks beside families in the space between holding on and letting go. It creates room for life review, storytelling, reconciliation, meaning, forgiveness, legacy, and connection when curing the body is no longer possible.Through guided reflection and meaningful conversations, we help people explore the life they have lived, the relationships that have shaped them, the wounds they still carry, the love they want to express, and the legacy they want to leave behind. Our hope is to help people approach the end of life with greater peace, dignity, connection, awe, and meaning. What Transcendence offersLife Review. Guided conversations that allow individuals to reflect on their lives, relationships, meaningful experiences, accomplishments, regrets, unresolved pain, and what matters most as the end of life approaches.Story & Legacy Work. Helping individuals preserve memories, share stories, communicate messages of love, and create a meaningful legacy for their families.Family Connection & Reconciliation. Creating opportunities for important conversations, forgiveness, expression, and connection when the individual desires them.Comfort-Focused Bodywork. Gentle, appropriate touch and body-based support intended to promote relaxation, comfort, body awareness, and ease alongside the person’s medical and palliative care.Energy & Relaxation Practices. Complementary practices focused on relaxation, presence, comfort, and emotional or spiritual support, not treatment of the underlying disease.Hospice, Hospital & Cancer-Care Partnerships. Bringing Transcendence practitioners into existing healthcare, oncology, palliative-care, and hospice environments as a complement to medical care.Family & Caregiver Support. Helping loved ones navigate the emotional and relational experience of accompanying someone through serious illness and dying.SCOPE OF CARETranscendence is offered alongside, never in place of, medical, palliative, and hospice care. Our energy and relaxation practices support comfort, presence, and emotional or spiritual well-being; they are not a treatment for the underlying disease.Your gift helps make this whole-person support possible for people living with cancer or serious illness, those approaching the end of life, and the families, caregivers, hospitals, oncology and palliative-care teams, and hospices that walk with them. Please give today to support Transcendence.
