This home will offer secure beds, trauma-informed care, and a quiet place to breathe, rest, and begin again. 🕊️ The need for emergency shelter is far greater than the available resources. In Pennsylvania, domestic violence providers reported 4,227 unmet requests from survivors in 2025, many of them for emergency shelter, hotel placement, or emergency relocation because of a lack of funding. On a single day in 2024, Pennsylvania programs served more than 3,100 victims but still could not meet nearly 500 requests for housing and services. (National Network to End Domestic Violence. (2025). This shortage means survivors are often left without a safe place to go when they are ready to leave abuse. Across the state, housing remains one of the most urgent unmet needs for domestic violence survivors. The gap is not just about beds &mdash; it is about lifesaving access to safety. (Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence. (2026, May 14). A faith-based emergency shelter is especially needed because survivors often want a place that reflects their values, their healing process, and their need for spiritual care.&nbsp; Right now, there are very few options that combine emergency shelter with a faith-centered, trauma-informed approach. Joy Restored Retreat is a quiet space to pause, reset, and listen for God&rsquo;s voice. Through guided prayer, trauma-informed teaching, and reflection, we&rsquo;ll focus on healing weary hearts and renewing hope despite hardship we have faced in this life. This is an inner healing retreat where we dive deep into how to restore joy and reignite our fire within. We will be staying at the beautiful Haft Retreat Center in New Albany and all lodging, food, materials and activities are included in the cost.&nbsp; Hosted by EstherzCrown International Ministries, this retreat supports our mission to nurture spiritual growth, build supportive community, and strengthen your walk with Christ.
