Anyone who cares for children less than 12 months of age in a certified child care program must be trained on SIDS risk reduction methods. This requirement pertains to the certified operator and any other providers, including substitutes, volunteers, helpers, employees and emergency back-up providers.

SIDS Training with FCR

Provides foundational knowledge and skills training for individuals as they begin, or consider, a career in caring for children in a home setting. Content includes exploring the basics of family child care from foundational business practices to intentionally planning to support growth and development for mixed-age groups. Learners explore rules and regulations governing family child care businesses and programming. Practices and strategies will be explored to reflect the diverse needs of children and families in Wisconsin. This course fulfills introductory noncredit course requirements as specified in the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Chapters 202 and 250 for family child care. This is a blended course, with work done independently in ECExplorer and set coaching sessions. Live coaching sessions are held virtually via Zoom. You must have a computer with a camera, audio, and internet to participate in the class. Students will also complete 20 hours of online coursework. Students must have cameras on and participate in all daily zoom sessions. Attendance is required. No exceptions. Funding for this course is provided by the Department of Children and Families and supplemental funding sources.

Fundamentals of Family Care 2026 Accelerated

This course provides foundational knowledge and skills training for those beginning or considering a career in infant and toddler care. The content explores infant and toddler care from a relational perspective, emphasizing providing learning experiences within care routines and play experiences. &nbsp;Special emphasis will be placed on collaborating with families to support infant and toddler development and on reflecting family practices in the children's environments and routines. This course meets the introductory, non-credit requirements as specified in Chapters 202, 250, and 251 of the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) Administrative Code for Family and Group Child Care. This is a blended course, with work done independently in ECExplorer and set coaching sessions. Live coaching sessions are held virtually via Zoom. You must have a computer with a camera, audio, and internet to participate in the class. Students will attend 4 sessions (ten hours total) of virtual face-to-face instruction. This will be accomplished by thoroughly examining the subjects of curriculum planning and activity selection in a developmentally appropriate early childhood environment. Additional topics to be covered include exploring strategies to involve parents and the role of observation in a developmentally appropriate program. Certain people in Wisconsin are required either by the state statutes or by an executive order of the governor to report suspected child abuse and neglect. There is a system in place &mdash; child protective services and law enforcement agencies, tribal services, community treatment and support services, foster care and the court system &mdash; to intervene on behalf of children who may be abused or neglected and to secure their safety. In order for this system to function, however, someone must first identify and refer the children who might be in need of protection. That is the role of mandated reporters. In this course you will learn the legal responsibilities as a mandated reporter, types of child abuse and neglect and their definitions, how to recognize child abuse and neglect, how and where to make a report, what happens after you make a report, and the protections for a reporter under the law.

Family and Childcare Resources of Northeast Wisconsin Brat Barn Order Form

Trainings are held at FCRNEW&#39;s office, 414 S Jefferson St, Green Bay 54301. Plan for four hours of training. Includes training in the use of AED. This training is a department-approved course that fulfills the requirement mandated in State of Wisconsin Licensing Rules &amp; Regulations 250, 251, and 252.

CPR at FCR

This class focuses on the knowledge needed for first aid care in a pediatric setting.
