Gooney Birds of Southport

Gooney Birds of Southport supports The Lord’s Food Pantry in alleviating hunger in Brunswick County by raising funds for a permanent facility. Their mission is to provide stability and safety for clients while addressing food insecurity in the community.

Each ticket you purchase directly contributes to our efforts in making a meaningful impact in our community. 🎟️ Since 1981, The Lord&rsquo;s Food Pantry (TLFP) has worked to alleviate hunger in Brunswick County. During this time, we have operated in a variety of locations, sometimes in donated space and other times paying rent. TLFP currently rents a facility which we are quickly outgrowing, and we have a lease that expires at the end of May 2027. TLFP now wants to acquire a permanent home for our mission, our volunteers and the families and individuals that we serve. Feed My Sheep: The Campaign for The Lord&rsquo;s Food Pantry seeks to raise money to purchase property and build a facility of approximately 8,500 square feet. We have entered into a purchase agreement to buy land at 605 Holden Beach Road in Shallotte, NC, and are currently in the process of reviewing bids to build our new facility. By more than doubling our space, the new facility will allow us to better meet the steadily growing issues of food insecurity and hunger in Brunswick County. It is our belief that having our own space will provide a sense of stability and safety for our clients and our volunteers. Thank you for your support.
