Dear Supporter,We often celebrate the moment a student earns acceptance into college or receive a scholarship and rightfully so. It represents years of hard work, determination and promise. But what many don&#39;t see is that getting to college is only the beginning. For too many students, the journey doesn&#39;t come with a full roadmap. While scholarships may open the door, they rarely account for the full cost of attendance or the inequities that shape a student&#39;s experience once they arrive. There are hidden cost that families simply aren&#39;t prepared for: meals when a dining plan runs out, transportation to get home during breaks or emergencies, course materials, unexpected fees, and everyday essentials. These gaps are not just inconvenient, they are equity issues. When some students can easily absorb these costs and others cannot, the playing field is no longer level. At GPS Event Foundation, Inc., we exist to close those gaps and advance equity in higher education. We provide critical, timely support to students who are doing everything right but still find themselves choosing between staying enrolled and meeting basic needs. These are not failures of effort but reflections of systemic inequities that we have the power to address together.
