Dr. Pauli Murray (1910–1985), a trailblazing human rights activist, legal scholar, author, labor organizer, poet, and the first Black woman ordained as an Episcopal priest. Murray, a multiracial, Black, queer visionary from Durham, North Carolina, lived one of the most remarkable lives of the twentieth century.
