Families should never be left to navigate education systems and language barriers alone—especially when raising Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. The Hands United Education & Family Services Fund ensures that immigrant and multilingual families have access to communication, learning, and school advocacy in ways that truly meet their needs.Your donation supports multilingual ASL classes for parents, siblings, and children; English–ASL and ESOL support for newly arrived Deaf individuals; and one-to-one language practice sessions with qualified interpreters. These services help families communicate at home, engage with schools, and build strong foundations for language development.Contributions also make it possible for Hands United to provide education advocacy, including IEP support, school resource navigation, Deaf tutoring, transition workshops, and FAFSA assistance. We offer specialized vocabulary workshops on topics families are often excluded from—such as puberty, health, and substance education—so Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth can access critical information at the right time.Beyond academics, this fund supports family and community connection through parent support groups, social opportunities for Deaf youth and young adults, assistance with education-related paperwork, and connections to culturally and linguistically appropriate professionals. With your support, families gain more than educational services—they gain access, confidence, and the tools to advocate for their children. Your donation helps Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in immigrant families build language, succeed in school, and thrive within their communities.

🌍 Support Multilingual ASL Access for Deaf FamiliesMany immigrant and refugee families with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children face barriers in accessing American Sign Language (ASL) resources. At Hands United, we are breaking those barriers by producing ASL videos featuring Deaf language models, paired with voiceovers in families’ native spoken languages such as Karen, Somali, and Ukrainian.Your donation will help us:🎥 Film educational ASL videos with native Deaf presenters🌐 Add multilingual voiceovers so parents can learn alongside their children in their own language💬 Expand access to culturally inclusive resources that promote language development and family communicationEvery contribution—big or small—helps Deaf children and their families thrive through language, connection, and community.👉 Donate today to help us make ASL accessible to every family, in every language.
