At Hero’s Hammer In, we believe that the people who serve our communities and our country deserve more than just a "thank you." They deserve real, meaningful opportunities to heal, grow, and thrive. That belief is what gets us out of bed every morning. Our mission is simple but powerful: we provide free bladesmithing and metalworking education to active military members, veterans, and first responders. We're an Ohio-based nonprofit, and while we're officially a 501(c)(3), we like to think of ourselves as a community of makers. Through hands-on work with fire and steel, we offer more than just technical skills. We offer a sense of purpose, a place to belong, and a path to restoration. For many veterans and first responders, the transition away from service can feel isolating. It’s a huge shift, and it isn't always easy. That’s where the forge comes in. It’s a place of incredible focus and calm. Participants get to work with their hands, build something tangible, and reconnect with that feeling of accomplishment. Our programs aren't just about making knives; they're about supporting mental health, personal growth, and community. We’re also making sure these traditional techniques aren't lost to time.Because our programs are completely free for every participant, we rely on the kindness of people like you.
