JUST THE (Q)TIPS A play is more likely to be considered if it is easy to produce, so avoid scene changes, excessisve number of props, and elaborate sets. Remember this will be performed on stage, it's not a movie. Read your script aloud with a friend. It will help you with timing and to know if it's engaging Do or do not, there is no....telling about it. Don't just talk about something, let the audience see the action! And avoid exposition. If you're not sure where to start, start in the middle or with an action. You can always go back and change the beginning. Some directors may wish to get in touch with you before or during the rehearsal period if they have any questions. In that case, they will contact you via email. By registering, you support a welcoming space where local voices are heard and the arts stay accessible to everyone 🎭. Bring your curiosity, a pen, and an open mind—everything else will unfold on the page.
