Indie Institute was founded in 2018 with the mission to improve animal sheltering and welfare and promote the human-animal bond through research, education, rescue and rehabilitation. Final Frontier Rescue Project (FFRP) is the rescue and rehabilitation effort of the nonprofit. Lessons learned through the work of Final Frontier Rescue Project form the basis of research and education. Since 2018, FFRP has rescued over 400 dogs and placed more than 300; at any given time, about 50-60 dogs remain in our care. Our largest expenses are veterinary care, boarding, and training. We have no paid staff and operate as an all-volunteer organization.
