Infant program - St John’s Center

St. John's Center provides inclusive, individualized childcare, ensuring families in Berkeley have access to quality early education. With 50 years of service, they focus on supporting children and families through tuition assistance and community engagement.

🎉 Excitement is in the air! Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at St John’s Childcare’s 50th Anniversary and Fundraising Celebration. It's hard to believe that it's been 50 years since a small group of St John's Presbyterian church members, started our then tiny, childcare center! 🎉We estimate that in our 50 years in Berkeley we have provided tuition assistance to over 800 families, employed an average of 20 staff/year (including many, many CAL students), while providing more than 2600 families with “really great care for really little kids”. We have a bold goal, besides having an evening of great food, great company and great play opportunities - we're also hoping to use this event to finally give SJCC the financial safety net that we need to ensure that we can keep providing great, inclusive, individualized childcare for all families who need it. $50,000 for the 50th anniversary seems like a lofty, but attainable goal especially with thousands of alumni families. Thank you for supporting our center, your support is invaluable.

We just received a grant from Measure C to help with repairs like the water leak in wobblies, increasing capacity, and playground updates. Donate to help with these costs as well to keep the center going while these changes are happening. Ideas, more specific things you want us to buy with your donations please reach out.
