Iranian Women In Networking empowers first-generation immigrant high school girls through art-based programs, fostering identity, self-worth, and leadership. We aim to support their growth and help them navigate cultural challenges for a brighter future.

<h2>Nomad's Ground Mixed Media on Canvas | 36" x 60" Starting Bid: $1,000 </h2>A lush, vibrant rug seems unbound—weightless, free—yet strong and grounded. Beneath it, the canvas is layered with writing: a tapestry of emotions, aspirations, and gestural expressions. The piece invites the viewer to reflect on what it means to belong, to carry memories, and to create grounding through movement and identity. <img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/hxn9dbuhd/image/upload/v1743822962/wysiwyg/jtnicfj4h9hh6almn3fo.jpg" style="box-sizing:inherit;max-width:100%;position:relative;cursor:pointer;padding:0px 1px;user-select:none;color:rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.25px;orphans:2;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;width:600px;display:block;vertical-align:top;margin:5px auto;text-align:center;box-shadow:rgb(204, 204, 204) 10px 10px 5px 0px;border:5px solid rgb(204, 204, 204)" /> Artist: <a href="https://linktr.ee/mtohidi" style="text-decoration-color:initial;user-select:auto;box-sizing:inherit" target="_blank">Maryam</a> (Maya) Tohidi is an Iranian-born multimedia artist, who has lived and worked in Iran, Canada, UK and the US. Like her personal journey across continents and cultures, her artistic process pulls from and blurs the boundaries of different mediums, often juxtaposing soft and hard, old and new. Her work is exploratory, personal and reflective. The use of objects with a previous life gives Maryam's work a nostalgic quality, while layering memories, poetry, letters and journals make them deeply personal. Maryam's artwork often reflects on inherent fragility as well as the growth opportunities of immigration and living between different cultures.  Proceeds from this auction benefit IWIN—<a href="https://www.iwiniwin.org" style="text-decoration-color:initial;user-select:auto;box-sizing:inherit" target="_blank">Iranian Women in Networking</a>, a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through art. IWIN creates inclusive spaces where creativity, healing, and personal growth thrive, offering expressive art workshops and community-driven projects for immigrant, refugee women, and local organizations. Your winning bid supports both the artist and a mission centered on empowerment, expression, and equity through art. Exhibit: "Fragments of Home" explores the act of constructing a sense of place, blending personal narratives, poetry, and found objects with the symbolism of the Persian rug. It reflects my Iranian heritage, the complexities of identity, and the immigrant experience, while also embracing transformation and self-discovery. Through the rug's patterns, vibrant colors, and bilingual words, I honor my roots and explore the evolving journey of belonging. <img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/hxn9dbuhd/image/upload/v1743822949/wysiwyg/ppqei0wcnshtumdemtci.jpg" style="box-sizing:inherit;max-width:100%;position:relative;cursor:pointer;padding:0px 1px;user-select:none;color:rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:Roboto;font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:0.25px;orphans:2;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;width:600px;display:block;vertical-align:top;margin:5px auto;text-align:center;box-shadow:rgb(204, 204, 204) 10px 10px 5px 0px" /> Your impact: Nomad’s Ground is the most valuable piece in the collection—generously offered to benefit <a href="https://www.iwiniwin.org" style="text-decoration-color:initial;user-select:auto;box-sizing:inherit" target="_blank">IWIN’s </a>mission of empowerment through art.
