In 1983, a New York City dancer is hired to bring the latest, hottest disco dances to Germany. In 2018, the same dancer returns to Germany and performs a dance protest on the site of a synagogue burned down on Kristallnacht and turned into a recreational party site. Yehuda L. Hyman is that dancer. Using dance, comedy and pathos, Hyman tells the true story of his quest to find the dance that transforms pain into happiness. A JACK Rental Production

Michael Haggerty's WHERE WERE YOU

Three friends go on a pilgrimage to Istanbul to get hair transplants. What begins as a weekend of pokes and jests soon gives way to old wounds, buried rivalries, and the uncomfortable realization that none of them are as happy as they pretend to be. Beneath the jokes, each man is confronting a different version of the same question: what, exactly, are they trying to fix? Please note that 8/21 and 8/22 are preview performances. 8/27 is Hair Loss Affinity Night. A JACK Rental Production

JACK Year End Giving At JACK, we believe performance can shift how people see themselves, their neighbors, and the world. We are a home for artists who take risks, audiences who want to be moved, and a Brooklyn community that deserves a space built for imagination, dialogue, and possibility. Our mission is to fuel adventurous art and bridge divides through performance, conversation, and civic action, and every day we work to make that mission real in Clinton Hill. As we reach the end of the year, we are setting a goal to raise $20,000. This support will help us keep our doors open, pay artists with dignity, welcome neighbors at accessible price points, maintain our space, and continue offering programs that reflect the beautiful complexity of our city. It will also plant the seeds for the next season of work, so JACK can keep growing into a sanctuary for emerging voices and boundary pushing ideas. If JACK has inspired you, challenged you, grounded you, or given you a place to gather, we invite you to join us in this moment. Your gift helps shape what becomes possible here. Whether it is $10 or $1,000, it truly makes a difference. Let’s build the future of JACK together.

a living altar is an immersive musical ritual where the audience becomes part of the gathering. Surrounded by a living altar of plants and flowers, audiences are invited into an evening of spiritual jazz, movement, collective singing, and deep listening. Come gather, grieve, breathe, and leave with something living in your hands.

a living altar

Mine to Keep is a ghost story about the things that refuse to belong to anyone but themselves. Drawing on Black American folklore, it conjures histories of dismemberment, unrecognized labor, denied safety, and spiritual life under oppression, where the body becomes both property and battleground. The work asks what survives when sovereignty is stolen and what happens when the dead, the dismembered, and the dispossessed come back to claim what is theirs.
