Shango calls. We answer. For seven days on five sacred acres of redwood land in Guerneville, California, the Jambalaya Center for Ancient Mysteries and Sacred Arts gathers the village in honor of Shango — Kawo Kabiyesi, the Orisha of thunder, fire, justice, and divine masculine power — and Iyami, the sacred feminine force that balances and completes him. Isokan means unity. The Blessed Binary is the teaching that the Divine Feminine and the Sacred Masculine are partners. And when they move together, the world is sustained. Join us for a village gathering: nine days of ceremony, ancestral work, sacred ritual, drumming, praise singing, workshops, and the communal table. Intro to Tarot: Foundations of the Jambalaya Method

There are moments that change you. This is one of them. For one week in the ancient redwood forest of Sonoma County, California, something rare is happening. Chief Iyanifa Luisah Teish — elder, priestess, and one of the most revered voices in African diaspora spiritual tradition — is opening the land, opening the altar, and opening the circle. You are invited. The Oshun Festival is not an event you attend. It is an experience that finds you, moves through you, and sends you home different. Over seven days and seven nights, you will walk sacred land at dawn, sit at the feet of elders, hear the drums call Oshun by name, share meals cooked with intention, and remember something about yourself that the modern world has worked very hard to make you forget. This is the medicine. This is the moment. And there are very few spots left. What the week holds:Monday opens with a land blessing — Chief Teish leading the walk, the prayers, the greeting of the river. By Tuesday you are in the redwoods of Armstrong, standing on indigenous ground that has held ceremony for longer than any of us can count. Wednesday gives you rest, pleasure, and a community dinner that feels like home. Thursday the Congo Ancestral Activation arrives — a four-hour spiritual experience led by Queen Nqwamary Iya Janiqwa Nganga that will move through your ancestral line like water through stone. Friday is for the ancestors — shrine dressing, and the quiet powerful work of remembering who came before you. And Saturday — Saturday belongs to Oshun. Six hours of praise-singing, drumming, dance, and storytelling, closing with a community feast that celebrates everything we have built together across the week. Every evening, the circle deepens. Sacred films. Priest teachings. Song. Story. Altar. Join us in person or from wherever you are in the world. **Residential guests live on the land for the full week — meals included, ceremony included, community included. **Day passes welcome you for the workshop and vending days. **Virtual tickets bring the evening programming and select workshops directly to you via livestream, wherever you are calling in from. And here is what makes this moment even more sacred.Every dollar you invest in this festival goes directly toward purchasing this land permanently. The 5 acres beneath your feet — the redwoods, the river, the altar space — are not yet ours. We are in the process of raising $1.1 million to secure this property as a forever home for ancestral wisdom traditions for a minimum of 16 generations. Your ticket is a brick in that foundation. It is your name written into the story of this land. Residential spots are extremely limited and will not last. The river is already moving. Come. Some land chooses you. The 5 acres of ancient redwood forest in Guerneville, California chose us. Chief Iyanifa Luisah Teish has walked this ground. The ancestors have confirmed it. The river that runs beside it has been greeted and has answered back. Now we must make it ours — permanently, irrevocably, and for every generation that comes after us. The Jambalaya Center of Ancient Mysteries and Sacred Arts is raising $1.1 million to purchase this sacred property before October 2026. This land will become a forever home for ancestral wisdom traditions — a living sanctuary rooted in Yoruba Ifá, Egungun, Akan Sankofa, South African Ubuntu, and Caribbean earth-based teachings. A place where elders are honored, children are taught, ceremonies are held, and the wisdom of our ancestors is transmitted without apology for a minimum of 16 generations. This is not a building campaign. This is not a capital project. This is an act of ancestral reclamation. Every dollar you give today is a brick in that foundation. Every monthly gift is a root growing deeper into that soil. Every person who shares this page is an ancestor in the making — someone whose name will be remembered when this land is still standing long after we are gone.We are not asking you to donate to an organization. We are asking you to become part of a story that started before you were born and will continue long after you leave. The land is waiting. The ancestors are watching. The river is already moving. The Festival of the Bones: The Nine-Day Elevation

Cracking the Ancestral Code A 15-week creative writing workshop in the sacred art of ancestral storytelling "To be a storyteller is to be a keeper of the flame, a bridge between the world that was and the world that is yet to come." We are all walking archives. Carried within our memories, our family habits, the rhythms of our speech, and the very marrow of our bones are the maps of those who walked before us. Yet so much of our ancestral history remains fragmented — locked away in dry census data, faded photographs, and the silent spaces between family secrets. How do we reclaim these fragments and breathe life back into them? Cracking the Ancestral Code is a transformative, 15-week creative writing workshop designed to help you excavate, honor, and craft the stories of your lineage. Whether your family history is a sprawling, multi-generational epic or a quiet collection of half-remembered folklore, this course will give you the tools to transform raw memory into powerful, resonant narrative art. Together, we journey through three sacred pillars. In Remembrance, we move past dry dates and facts to mine the sensory truths of the past — using family heirlooms, recipes, photographs, and regional landscapes to bring the ghosts of your history vividly onto the page. In Reverence, we explore the sacred ethics of the storyteller: navigating complicated family truths with grace, honoring the distinct musicality of ancestral voices, and crafting characters who stand as three-dimensional human beings. In Resilience, we examine "blood memory" — unearthing the blueprints of survival, defiance, and triumph left behind by your ancestors, and structuring your narratives so they become a source of strength for the present and a legacy for the future. This workshop welcomes writers of all backgrounds and skill levels — from seasoned essayists and memoirists to those picking up a pen for the very first time. If you have a burning desire to listen deeply to the past and find your voice in the present, your seat at the table is waiting. The semester culminates in Voices from the Roots, a celebratory live community reading where we stand together and speak our ancestors' names into the room. Come join us this Fall. The ancestors are waiting to be heard. Guide: Chief Iyanifa Yeye Luisah Teish When: Saturdays, 1:00–3:00 pm Pacific · September 5 – December 12, 2026 Format: Hybrid (in-person and online) · Limited to 12–15 participants

A ten-week decolonial foundations course in tarot — not memorization, but the slow cultivation of a reader whose practice is spiritually anchored, intuitive, and ethically responsible. Taught by Shylah Hamilton-Touré, we treat the deck as ancestral technology: a tool for developing intuition, aligning with Ori and destiny, and bridging ancestral guidance with contemporary self-understanding. We read through Yoruba cosmology, hold the Ire/Ibi tension in every card, and ground each lesson in ritual, journaling, and dreamwork. Every participant receives a copy of the Seed & Smoke deck, mailed before we begin. Sundays 9:00–11:30 am Pacific, Jan 17– March 21, 2027 Limited to 15 readers.
