KAFM Radio

The Radio Room is a vibrant, 75-80 seat live music and event space located inside KAFM’s studios. The space serves as both a  gathering place and performance venue for local and touring musicians, films, fundraisers, workshops, and arts events. 

A Celebration of the Life and Music of John Anglim A Benefit Concert for KAFM Community RadioJoin us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the life, music, and lasting legacy of John Anglim, featuring performances by the two bands he loved to play with&mdash;Sparkplug and Flat Top Reed.John was a cherished member of the KAFM family, an original member of the station&#39;s Board of Directors, a longtime host of The Kitchen Sink and State of the Arts, and a passionate advocate for community radio, local music, and the arts. Whether he was behind a microphone, playing his harmonica on stage, or championing local artists, John&#39;s enthusiasm and generosity left an enduring mark on our community.This special benefit concert brings together friends, fellow musicians, and listeners to celebrate John&#39;s extraordinary life through the music he loved most. Sparkplug and Flat Top Reed will take the stage in tribute to their friend and bandmate, sharing an evening filled with great music, fond memories, laughter, and heartfelt remembrance.All proceeds from the event will benefit KAFM Community Radio, helping carry forward John&#39;s vision of a community connected through local voices, music, and the arts.Come celebrate a life well lived, remember a dear friend, and help ensure that John&#39;s legacy continues to inspire future generations through the station he helped build.

John Anglim Memorial Concert August 7th-SOLD OUT

Joel Alden White is a singer/songwriter and actor from West Texas. Winner of the AWA song of the Year 2023 for Once I was A Cowboy, recipient of the Spur Award 2026 for Roads &amp; Barbwire, recepient of 2 Will Rogers Medallions for 2026, and eight-time nominee in the IWMA and AWA. Joel has cowboyed and managed ranches in West Texas, been a Yard Manager for a West Texas Commercial Feedyard and a cattle buyer. Currently Joel is &ldquo;technically&rdquo; retired spending time with his wife, Kelly, in their home in Timbercreek Canyon just outside of Amarillo, making music, traveling, and performing. White&rsquo;s first 2 albums found success on the Roots Americana Country Charts with singles charting as high as a #1. His most recent 2 projects &quot;Once I Was A Cowboy&quot; and &quot;Roads and Barbwire&quot; have been widely acclaimed in the Western Music world. Joel has been a favorite of several Cowboy Music &amp; Poetry gatherings and continues to tour and entertain fans of Cowboy Music.&nbsp; Joel has also done a little acting as of late. He has a recurring background role as a Staten Ranch Hand in the second season of Netflix&#39;s Ransom Canyon and the new Yellowstone series Dutton Ranch currently being taped. She received an Emmy Award at the 2001 Heartland Regional Emmy Awards for &quot;Singin&#39; A Cowboy Song,&quot; a song she wrote and performed for the PBS special &quot;A Night at the Rodeo,&quot; produced by her son, Brian Malone.
