Bomba Drum Workshop (Basic &amp; Intermediate Levels)Led by V&iacute;ctor Qui&ntilde;ones This workshop offers a hands-on introduction to Puerto Rican Bomba drumming, focusing on fundamental rhythms, basic barrel techniques, and traditional patterns. Designed for basic and intermediate participants, the session explores the dynamic relationship between drum, dance, and song, while highlighting Bomba as a living Afro-Caribbean cultural practice rooted in community, identity, and resistance. Organized by La Casa de la Cultura as part of the Afro Legacy Fest, this workshop celebrates Afro-descendant heritage through music, tradition, and collective learning.

Puerto Rican Bomba Masterclass Feel the Ancestral Rhythm of Puerto Rico &bull; Support La Casa de la Cultura Join Rafael Cepeda, of the historic Cepeda Family, who for over 80 years has preserved and passed down the art of bomba, accompanied by V&iacute;ctor Qui&ntilde;ones, his master drummer (subidor). In this workshop, you will: &bull; Learn the Drum: Master traditional Bomba rhythms.&bull; Dance the Dialogue: Explore movements that interact directly with the music.&bull; Connect with History: Understand Bomba as a practice of resistance and celebration. This experience supports La Casa de la Cultura and its mission to promote Afro-descendant heritage. Open to all levels &ndash; no prior experience needed!
