Providing advance notice allows the coaching team to consider the circumstance appropriately and helps ensure that a skater is not unduly impacted in the evaluation process due to a known absence.Age RequirementsSkaters must be under 16 as of July 1, 2026.Skill RequirementsSkaters trying out for Novice should:Demonstrate strong edge quality, power, and speedMaintain consistent flow and control in step sequencesBe confident performing advanced turns (rockers, counters, brackets, twizzles)Show strong unison awareness and spatial control in team elementsDemonstrate endurance, consistency, and coachabilityBe comfortable with more complex synchronized skating elements and transitionsWhat to WearSkaters are asked to wear all black, fitted skating attire with hair in a neat bun.Tryout GuidelinesPrior to attending, please read through the Meraki Synchro Tryout Guidelines to familiarize yourself with what to expect and how placements work. While this registration reflects interest in the Novice team, all skaters are evaluated within the full Meraki program structure. Final placements are based on individual readiness, team balance, safety considerations and the overall needs of the program.
