But what if we could prevent unwanted litters before they ever happen? Lend-A-Paw, Luna Farms Rescue, and Marshall County Animal Control have joined forces to launch the Fixin' Grant Program—a targeted spay and neuter initiative focused on the areas of Marshall County where it can make the greatest impact. Rather than waiting for puppies and dogs to enter overcrowded shelters, this program proactively identifies communities with the highest need and removes the financial barriers that keep families from having their pets spayed or neutered. Every surgery prevents countless future litters, reducing suffering, easing the burden on local shelters, and creating healthier communities for both people and pets. Your support doesn't just help one dog—it helps break the cycle of overpopulation.Together, we can create lasting change for Marshall County by investing in prevention instead of crisis response. Every donation helps fund another spay or neuter surgery. Your gift to the Prevention Project stops suffering before it starts. Every dollar helps cover spay and neuter surgeries, vaccines, and basic care so local dogs never end up abandoned, sick, or pregnant again. 💛🐾 Every day, loving families face barriers that prevent them from getting their pets spayed or neutered. The result is unplanned litters, overcrowded shelters, and thousands of dogs entering the rescue system each year.Luna Farms is changing that.Instead of waiting until puppies are born and pets become homeless, we're using data to identify the neighborhoods and families where targeted intervention can make the greatest difference. Working alongside Lend-A-Paw, Marshall County Animal Control, local veterinary partners, and community volunteers, we're removing the barriers that prevent families from accessing care. This isn't simply a low-cost spay and neuter program. It's a community-based prevention model that combines targeted outreach, education, transportation assistance, scheduling support, and affordable veterinary care to stop unwanted litters before they happen. Our goal is to create measurable, lasting change—not only by helping individual pets, but by reducing future shelter intake and improving animal welfare across entire communities. We will carefully measure the results and share what we learn so this model can be expanded throughout Alabama.Your donation helps provide:

Spay and neuter surgeries

Core vaccinations

Transportation assistance

Community outreach in high-need neighborhoods

Education for pet owners

Data collection and impact measurement

Together, we can help families keep their pets healthy, prevent future homelessness, and build a model that transforms animal welfare—one community at a time.Because every surgery helps one pet.
