🌟 Be a part&nbsp;of Preserving History !!!🌟The Marjorie Dieter Mastin Historical Society has recently acquired Canaseraga&rsquo;s 160 year old Trinity Episcopal Church. Since the church has played an important part in the history of Canaseraga and the Town of Burns, it&rsquo;s crucial that the church be preserved and restored for future generations.Repairs to the roof, bell tower, and foundation are just a few of the necessary repairs that will need to be done to the building. The Society is currently obtaining estimates for major repairs that will help tosustain the integrity of the building. Research into possible grants that are available to help fund preservation efforts is also being done, but the Society will need your help to make this preservation and restoration possible!!!! MDMHS invites you to explore the eerie side of our village&rsquo;s past 👻. From unexplained stories to long‑whispered legends, we&rsquo;ll walk the streets and share tales rooted in local lore and history.&nbsp; Your registration helps the Marjorie Dieter Mastin Historical Society preserve and restore the 160‑year‑old Trinity Episcopal Church and safeguard records, photos, and stories for future generations 🕯️. Join us to experience spooky history after dark&mdash;and help protect it for years to come. This is a walking tour, rain or shine. Prepare for darkness! We will be walking up and down hills, and over some uneven terrain. The tour is planned to last for 1 hour.&nbsp; We will be offering warm beverages, water and light snacks at the meeting place. We also will have a basket raffle, and you can opt to have a tarot card reading for a small donation This tour will include local legends, tales of deaths, hauntings, and local myths.&nbsp; No filming, or flash photography is permitted during the tour. All attendees are asked to stay with the group and refrain from leaving the marked trails. Flashlights are encouraged, and flashlights are to remain aimed at the ground. Please also respect the group by remaining quiet during stories. Attendees are responsible for their own safety with regard to crossing streets, following rules, and navigating uneven terrain. Please Read Before ParticipatingThe Dark History Night Walk is an educational and recreational community event that takes place outdoors after dark and may involve walking on sidewalks, roadsides, grass, gravel, uneven ground, stairs, and other potentially hazardous surfaces. Participants may encounter low lighting, changing weather conditions, uneven terrain, roots, rocks, mud, insects, and other natural or environmental hazards.By participating in the Dark History Night Walk, I acknowledge and understand that participation is voluntary and involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, personal injury, illness, property damage, inclement weather, encounters with wildlife, and other unforeseen hazards.I agree to:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Follow all instructions provided by event organizers, guides, and volunteers.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Remain with the designated group and stay on approved routes whenever possible.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Use appropriate caution when walking in darkness or over uneven surfaces.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for outdoor conditions.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Carry a flashlight or other appropriate light source when recommended.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Exercise personal responsibility for my own safety and the safety of those accompanying me.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Notify an event organizer or guide if I observe a safety concern or require assistance.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Ensure that any children or minors accompanying me remain under my supervision at all times.</li></ul>I understand that the organizers, volunteers, property owners, sponsors, and affiliated organizations cannot guarantee that the event will be free from hazards or injuries.Release and Hold HarmlessTo the fullest extent permitted by law, I voluntarily assume responsibility for the risks associated with my participation and agree to release, hold harmless, and not hold liable the event organizers, volunteers, guides, sponsors, participating organizations, property owners, and their respective representatives from claims arising from my participation in the Dark History Night Walk, except where prohibited by applicable law.
