Youth Improv invites young people to play, explore, and create stories together on their feet. Through theatre games and guided scenes, kids build confidence, sharpen their listening, and discover how fun it can be to think on the spot.&nbsp; Rooted in Matchbox Children&rsquo;s Theatre&rsquo;s mission to spark imagination, this program offers a welcoming space where every idea matters and every voice is heard. No experience needed&mdash;just curiosity, teamwork, and a willingness to try something new.&nbsp;

Join Matchbox Children&rsquo;s Theatre Drama Troupe for an exciting summer filled with creativity, performance, friendship, and community involvement! Drama Troupe is a welcoming program designed for students who want to continue building their theatre skills while working together in a fun and encouraging environment. Throughout the summer, students will participate in theatre games, acting activities, group projects, performances, and creative workshops while developing confidence, teamwork, and stage experience. The summer session will also include special events, community activities, and volunteer opportunities that allow troupe members to connect with Matchbox productions and support the arts in our community. Drama Troupe will meet Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the summer at Matchbox Children&rsquo;s Theatre. Whether students are experienced performers or simply looking for a creative place to belong, Drama Troupe offers a supportive and engaging environment where imaginations can grow. We can&rsquo;t wait to spend the summer creating with you at Matchbox!

Intro to Acting Class (Ages 11&ndash;17) 🎭Step onto the stage with Matchbox Children&rsquo;s Theatre. In this active, beginner‑friendly class, young actors explore voice, movement, and character through scenes and games that build confidence and creativity. Guided by experienced teaching artists, students practice working as an ensemble, bringing stories to life, and supporting one another. No prior experience needed&mdash;just curiosity and a willingness to play. 🌟

Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxed social hour from 12:00&ndash;1:00 PM featuring refreshments, conversation, and a welcoming atmosphere before the showcase begins at 1:00 PM. The showcase will feature performances and presentations by our Drama Troupe students as they celebrate the start of an exciting summer at Matchbox. Whether you are a longtime supporter, a family member, or simply curious about youth theatre in our community, this event is a wonderful opportunity to experience the creativity, energy, and spirit of Matchbox Children&rsquo;s Theatre. A Wonderful Summer Kick-Off &nbsp;June 14 | 12:00&ndash;2:00 PM &nbsp;Social Hour: 12:00&ndash;1:00 PM &nbsp;Summer Showcase: 1:00&ndash;2:00 PM &nbsp;Matchbox Children&rsquo;s Theatre Admission is free and all are welcome.

A Wonderful Summer Kick-Off

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, written around 1601, is an entertaining comedy that navigates the themes of love, mistaken identity, and the topsy-turvy nature of human relationships. Set in the fictional kingdom of Illyria, the play follows the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. And oh my, the mixup of shenanigans that ensue, more tangled than the wrecked ship&#39;s fishing nets!Join us for this hilarious modernized spin, sprinkled with old English and new, that keeps the whole audience, regardless of age, connected, unknowingly gaining a Shakespearean education...and, of course, giggling!

No previous puppetry experience is needed&mdash;just bring your imagination!
