Minnesota Valley Action Council is a Community Action Agency. MVAC is not part of the government, nor is it a political entity. MVAC is a private non-profit organization that uses local, state, and federal resources to provide assistance for people in low-wage work. There are community action agencies nation-wide, and each agency is governed by local people and focused on local needs.
